Sub : Wrong quoting of the Assessee name in the Income Tax Return - 1

Sir,

I _______ had filed my Income Tax Return on 19/10/2010 for the A.Y 2010-11. But in the Income Tax Return my name has been wrongly quoted as _____ instead of _____. As the Income Tax Return is filed after the due date, the same cannot be revised. So I bring to your notice the above change. I have also enclosed the xerox copy of the Acknowledgement filed on the above mentioned date for your kind perusal.

I have written the above letter to the AO regarding the matter mentioned in the letter. Please check whether it is correct. And is it necessary to mention the section under which the return cannot be revised.
Make any changes if necessary.

01 November 2010 no need to mention section and all. what you prepared is enough. alongwith the acknowledgement enclose your pan copy also. submit and get acknowledgement.

second thing, quoting wrong pan is problem. i think in your case, there is no problem. even though you do the formality for saferside.

01 November 2010 Your letter is perfectly fine. Just attach a copy of PAN card and acknowledgment along with letter.
