10 June 2013 Whether assessee can claim VCES benefit after receiving of notice in may 2013.
as per VCES, to cliam benefit no notice has been issued before 1st march 2013.
Please guide me.

11 June 2013 Yes he can claim as the notification is clear that "the notice should have been issued before 1st March 2013.

For which period the current notice is issued?

14 June 2013 The schme is operative from 1st day of October, 2007 and ending on the 31st day of December, 2012 including a cess leviable thereon under any other Act for the time being in force, but not paid as on the 1st day of March, 2013.
You can write a reply that you are opting for Voluntary scheme and taxes will be paid for the Notice period also.
