TDS on payment for repairs

This query is : Resolved

20 February 2008 Dear all
While making payment for repairs of motor cars,TDS will be deducted on the gross amount billed or on the maintainance charges.

20 February 2008 On Maintainance Charges that is excluding cost of Parts. You can see in bill that party might have charged Sales tax. So, where sales tax is not paid deduct TDS on that amount.

20 February 2008 if the bill of repairs are seperate from material then only tds is to be deducted on repairs only otherwise tds is deducted on whole amount

20 February 2008 If it is a composite bill , that is materials are not separtely billed , TDS will be on the whole amount

20 February 2008 IF THERE IS SEPERATE BILL FOR COST OF PARTS THAN ONLY ON LABOUR CHARGES TDS IS TO BE DEDUTED BUT IF THE BILL IS COMBINED WHICH INCLUDES PARTS PLUS LABOUR THAN ON THE WHOLE BILL AMOUNT TDS IS REQUIRED TO BE DEDUCTED

20 February 2008 As said by all , if it is a consolidated bill, then TDS is to be deducted on the amount along with the spare parts. even if it given with bifurcation
