HI ALL MEMBERS I JUST JOINED THIS CLUB AND FEELING GREAT TO JOIN U ALL,I HAVE A QUERRY THAT MY COMPANY DOING A PRACTICE OF ADDING THE VALUE OF FREIGHT IN THE PURCHASE WITH A VEIW TO SAFE GUARD THE PROBLEMS RELATING TO DEDCUTION OF TDS AND DEPOSIT OF SERVICE TAX ON BEHALF OF THE TRANSPORTER ,I RECENTLY JOINED THIS COMPANY AND I FEEL THAT IT IS A WRONG PRACTIVE ,JUST BY ADDING THE FREIGHT IN PURCHASE CANNOT MAKE YOU FREE FROM THE LIABILITY TO DEDUCT THE TDS FROM THE FREIGHT CHARGED ON THE PURCHASE ,PL HELP ME .
YES I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU THIS IS WRONG PRACTICE. TDS HAS TO BE DEDUCTED ON FREIGHT WHETHER ADDED WITH PURCHASE OR NOT, OTHERWISE THE SAME WILL BE DISALLOWED AT THE TIME OF ASSESSMENT.

I agree but in case the supplier is ready to pay the transporter on his own then there is no liability of your company as its the cost of purchase for them and the supplier is including this cost in their total cost of material/product supplied.
