Dear Sir/ Madam, we have received a payment in EURO from German based company, towards repairing and service charges for UPS at Madhya Pradesh. Pls let me know whether i have to raise the export invoice or IGST service invoice for this kind of transaction. i.e payment in different currency and service provided within India.

Though the payment has been received in EURO, the place of supply remains to be the address on record. The company must be a registered dealer in Indian GST Act. You have to raise Service Invoice and charge IGST if you are not registered in MP or CGST-SGST if you are registered in MP.
We have received payment from German Based Company (Foreign located company Not registered in India ) but Service provided to Govt of India owned Company/sector. As per our knowledge and information got from our branch people, we came to know that M/s ABC i.e govt owned company has given the sub contract to German based company, so that y we have received the payment in EURO.
we are in a dilemma whether to generate export invoice or service invoice.
Suppose if we generate service invoice, while auditing proceedings the officer may raise a issue that you have received payment in EURO but y did you raised GST service invoice instead of Export invoice.
