I am a student of IPCC , planning on taking the exams in May, 2011. Now roughly 6 months left for the exams. My question : cost accounting self study possible for a person with no maths base? Because I really hate tuitions and I study better when I do self study than when going to tuitions. I cleared CPT with self study but tried to study QT on my own but couldn't (no maths base so had to skip it).
tutions are not must , only thing u need to have focused approach, as u say we can plan effectively and study , does not matter if ur not maths base student.
if u go to tutions u save ur time in searching the correct methods of study and get on to the point at ease, rather we need lot of time to get birdeyesview on the syllabus and trace out the most sensitive areas in the syllabus, few suggestions which comes out of experience can be recieved only at such tutions or even any other classess , because we might be thinking in one direction only but when we get in touch with other people u will sure appreciate thier views.
its now u to decide which option is best for u reagards

Accountancy, which is a core-subject in IPCC, is also having a lot of maths. Cost Accounting is a Branch of Accounting and not of Mathematics. If you can distribute Profit between the partners, you can apportion the costs among the cost centers also. My sincere advise to you- logically understand the cost sheets, memorize the formats critically and solve the entire question before referring to the correct answer. This will teach you more than a tutor.
