Regarding 15 g

This query is : Resolved

20 February 2013 I am govt servant and income tax payee .I fixed 100000/ in sbi in sept 2012.the bank asked me to fill form 15 G which I filled.Am I right or what should I do

21 February 2013 No. You shouldn't have. As you are an income-tax payee, your income exceeds the maximum limit not chargeable to tax. Accordingly, Form 15G won't apply to you.

21 February 2013 Thanks a lot sir.since I have already
filled the 15G as asked by bank, what should I do to avoid any problem arising in future.should I add the interest earned in my statement of income tax schedule or go to bank to request withdraw my form 15 G

21 February 2013 IF YOU WILL PAY SELF ASSESSMENT TAX EQUAL TO THIS TDS AMOUNT AT THE TIME OF FILING OF INCOME TAX RETURN AS PER SEC 139(1), YOU DONT REQUIRE TO GET BACK OR WITHDRAW THIS FORM 15G.

HOWEVER, IF YOU ARE PAYING ANNUAL TAX MORE THAN RUPEES 10000/- REGULARLY THEN THERE IS APPLICABILITY OF ADVANCE TAX PROVISION.

21 February 2013 Mohan.

please be guided by CA Ashish's advice on this now.
