Sir, I Would like to know that while rectification u/s 154 they ask for xml file. Whether xml actually uploaded at the time of filling return needs to be provided or new xml can be created with rectificated data. I actually lost the xml file of original return.
Kindly clarify the whole procedure of online rectification..

Rectified xml file is to be uploaded. If you have lost the original xml file then prepare a new xml file and then upload the same. After logging fill the relevant details and the mistake which sought to be rectifed. and then upload the xml file.

Date of revised XML file will always be different. Our focus has to be shifted on the rectification of mistakes, which have been done at the time of original return filing. . Rectification can be done by creating a new xml file , when original data has been lost. This time it is to be done more carefully. As Mr Ratan Sharma has advised , you may upload the new xml file. Your date of filing original return is the date when you have filed the return.

yes, you need to upload a rectify xml file you can see you filing date is printed on your ITRV so no problem about filing date...now when you upload rectification as per experts said, you must need to focus on mistakes which you have done in filing. now its time to file with rectification xml file.....prepare first all the material which you are going to write online....but be careful website doesn't give so much time to wait....it will logoff quickly....so first wirte down you matter in a page and then pick options and upload xml file quick.....
