Medical bills


29 December 2011 I am payroll exec in one of IT company, one of my employee come and submitted medical bills which was on his mothers name, when i asked he said he will get the letter from hospital stating that she is mother of that employee, will that do for medical rembursement.

Also rent agreement copy is necessary for HRA exemption.

2.Rent receipt is enough for claiming HRA. providing Rental agreement more comfort.

29 December 2011 Generally Companies allow Medical claims for dependents of an employee Ex.Mother, Father, Spouse & Children.

29 December 2011 Medical expenditure upto Rs. 15000/- on spouse, children, parents will be eligible for deduction/exemption Under Income Tax.

Employer should ensure that rent is actually paid. for that matter, rent agreement may be asked by him. Further for monthly rent upto Rs. 3500/-, only rent receipt will work.
