I got a Notice u/s 25(A) of the KVAT Act,2003 for the AY 2009-10. i need to know what is this notice all about. What are the various time limit for assessment under KVAT Act,2003. How to file objections to this notice.

Did you mention Section 25(1) and not 25(A)? It 5 years from the end of the year. So in your case 5 years is over on 31st March 2015. But this 5 year limit is not applicable if there is a wilful default through benami or forged documents. The notice gives you first an opportunity to explain your side. So if you are a genuine tax-payer, go ahead and explain and nothing to worry.

Department sends the notice under Section 25A only when Comptroller and Auditor General raises an objection to the previous tax assessments. Again, as per this section, you should be given an opportunity to explain, hence the letter.
