Itr2 query

27 July 2013 My mom has exempt income >5000 due to which she needs to file ITR 2,but she is a non salaried person and have never been in service. ITR2 makes it manadatory to fill the employer details. What is the alternative/correct way?

Also my Dad is a pensioner from State Govt
Should he write the employer details?

27 July 2013 Incase any other taxable income is there except exempted income, then you need to fill that particular income otherwise no need to file the return


Yes. you can write the department which he worked under Government

28 July 2013 Thanks Ramesh.Probably my qustion was not clear

Exempt income is 35k(PPF +10 from savings)

Income from FD and other interest sources is near 6Lakh.She doesnot draw any salary,hence salary/pension section is blank.

But when I am filling ITR2,it is asking me to fill employer section which doesnot exist.What should i do in this case?


28 July 2013 When you are not having salary income no need to fill the income from salary schedule. just you fill the Income from other sources schedule and show the interest income in that place only.

Employer section.just you can select not applicable
