This query is : Resolved

30 January 2016 Please explain the taxability in this case:

A person working in TCS is a ordinarily resident as per the Income Tax Act, 1961 for F.Y. 2014-15. He was in Sweden for 5 months from Nov to Mar and received salary there in Swedish Krona (SEK). The same will be taxable in India? DTAA relief will apply here?

31 January 2016 Income of resident Indians are taxable in India. DTAA relief is available if that person worked in Sweden for less than 183 days in the fiscal year and the salary was paid by Indian Employer.

31 January 2016 Will the amount be taxable in India if no tax was levied in Sweden because it was under the basic exemption limit there?

31 January 2016 In case of resident in India taxable.
