13 April 2011 I am paying 10,000 p.m. as rent. I have made rent agreement with the flat owner on stamp paper but not registered it.
Now I want to claim HRA deduction for FY 2011-12 but in our company rule is that if you have registered rent agreement then only you will get hra deduction so finance dept is not accepting agreement.
Now, can I claim deduction in my return even if my company has not considered it.
Otherwise what will be the option?
Please help.

Please reply.

13 April 2011 no need to register the rent agreement. To claim HRA, only rent receipt is sufficient.

13 April 2011 Agreed with Pyne Ji.
In income tax law , there is no such provision to claim HRA Deduction , Only Rent receipt is sufficient.
