10 July 2017 is repayment of principal amount towards housing loan for an under construction flat eligible for deduction us 80C? can I claim the amount under 80C..pls help?

10 July 2017 no you cannot...the construction should have been completed before you can make claim for the deduction

10 July 2017 so u mean there's no deduction neither fir interest nit principal untill house gets completed..? why is then it said that housing loan gets u tax savings?


10 July 2017 well you get the tax saving once the house is completed. till then it is just a under-contruction asset, not a house.
