Gst on imported coal

This query is : Resolved

13 December 2018 Ours is Cement Manufacturing Company & purchased imported coal from local vendor who charged CGST,SGST & CESS@Rs.400/-. Everything Okay after 1 year now in one of our other unit requirement purpose the said coal we are transferring stock transfer basis..Off the above stock transfer some portion Stock before GST & some portion stock after GST. Please advise GST implication on Receipt Unit as well as Sending Unit...with respect to both the stocks ..

14 December 2018 What I understand from your querry is you want to know the following:
1. GST Implication on the Coal received
2. GST implication on the coal transferred to other unit.

As far as the coal received is concerned, Post GST, you are already receiving the coal from local supplier. So You are paying GST to him so no other implication.
For the coal that you are transferring to your other unit, there are two possibilities. First is that your other unit is within your state only and having the same GST number, in such case No GST implecations. Second is your other unit is having separate GST number within state or in other state, You will have to charge GST irrespecitve of the fact that you have purchase it before or after GST. i.e. 1st July 2017. So you will have to charge GST for such transfer.
