we carried out some installation of lighting equipments work at Doordarshan TV studios. Now owork is over and we want to send back the tools and tackles back to our works at Allahabad. The Fed Ex courier inform that they need form 63 to pick up the material which is all old used tools ladders etc which are not for sale or transfer are being brought back to us at Allahabad for future use at our end. We have provided our site engineer the form 38 required for entry of such goods in UP and donot know how to get over this problem of form 63 when material is to be defenitely pickedup tomorrow because the site is closed and men have reservations for travel back.We believe since all the mnaterial is old and used and not for sale no tax liability exists any where and no form should be required in Assam. Please clarify urgently Thanks .

In this instance Form63 can not be issued by you because you are not registered in Assam. The best way is to ask The Doordarshan office people to issue a leetter adressed to the checkpost officers satting that you have done some erection/installation work at their office, and after completion of work you are taking back own tools and tackles back etc. In support of your claim you may furnish a copy of the used Form 38 of UP VAT Act,and issue one more form 38 for returning. If necessary go to the concerned VAT office with a letter from Doordarshan and get them endorsed,so that check post accept them on the way.....mjk
