What is a perodicity of filing Service Tax Retrun? I have applied for Number in Sept 11, So from when i have to file return?

04 January 2012 Peridicity of Service Tax return is half yearly, i.e.

Each Half-yearly Return should be submitted within 25 days from the end of the half year period:

From April to September : 25th October
From October to March : 25th April

Where 25th October or 25th April falls on a public holiday, the return can be filed on the next working day.

Here you have mentioned that apply for Service tax registration in sept. 11,

in this case two Condition will be applicable for filing of April 11 to Setp. 11 ST return.
1. if ST registration number obtain before 30th sept.
2. or if any taxable transactions executed during the April to Sept. period.

Else you will be eligible for Oct to March 2012 service tax return.
