05 January 2011 What is the difference between Purchase Register and Purchase Ledger?

05 January 2011 Purchase Register is a subsidiary book and can be maintained in columnar form.

In manual system inspite of entering every purchase bill entry in the ledger, periodical summary can be posted.

Ledger shows you total purchases and if you want to know more particulars you can refer Purchase Register.
