Deduction on interest on house loan

17 October 2012 I purchased a house taking house loan in my name. But the registration of the house is in the name of my wife. I am repaying the house loan. I am a salaried employee. Whether I can get deduction for interest and principle on house loan.

17 October 2012 Banks are careful enough not to do such kind of transaction. If you have done this, please re register the same in BOTH the names, in order to get the benefits of housing loan in your case.
