is benefit of indexation always allowed in case of shares ,debentures whether listed ,unlisted i.e. are they always eligible for indexation benefit?...what are the specific circumstances where benefit of indexation is not at all given..
Q2)when some assets(depreciable) are sold from the block then we calculate cap gain as a whole..is here sec50still hold good?because sec50is applied when all assets are sold from the block..
Q3)in case of depreciable assets if long term gain/loss arises then does sec48 holds good??

09 August 2010 indexation benefit is not applicable on bonds and debentures except capital indexed bonds issued by govt.

if sale value of single asset in the block is more than the WDV of the block then it is STCG u/s 50 even if some assets are stil physically there

and there is no indexation benefit for depreciable assets
