Assessee sold an old building during the current year. Cost of the building was not known as it was constructed before 20 years by the Assessee. How to compute the capital gains as the cost of building is not known.

you need to value the building as at 1 April 2001 and claim indexation on the same. You would need to obtain a valuation report from a valuer for the same
