I am an investor in F&O. Recently during crash in Share market on 21st January 2008, the broker had sent a mail to the branch office (Where my account is existing) to liquidate the stocks from their own side of those clients where funds in the account of client are not sufficient. This was told well in advance to me and I was also intimated by my branch office that no action is required by them as they themselves shall liquidate the stock and I need not worry. They had sent the emails to the branch office to do. But to my surprise they did not liquidate and the act was done on the very next day when the value of stocks had depreciated a lot. So how can I register the complaint agaist the broker who defaulted for what was told to me. I suffered irrepairable loss. I am in total despair.Please tell me if I can register the complaint and how can I go with that? What should be the first step? I can get the copy of the mail sent to Branch office for intimation of liquidation from their side. Kindly help me.

after the new amendment dividend includes interim dividend. so rules that apply to dividend applies to interim dividend. so can board of directors revoke interim dividend after being declared?

I am runing a partnership firm with one partner, which is established 2 months before.Nature of business is to provide Security Personnels ( Guards )
Please advice me on following things -

1) Is it possible to convert the same firm in to a Pvt. Ltd company ?

2) If yes then, service tax , PF, ESIC, PT registration nombers will remain same ? Or we have to register again ??

3) How many days it will take to convert the same? and what will be the total aprox expences for that ??

In the case of a construction company where there are several labour contractors (many small time contractors) who do not have PAN numbers, can you please suggest a very practical solution for compliance to TDS return filing. - Tax has been deducted & paid, but return filing is pending for want of PAN numbers of the contractors.
We have attempted engaging only PAN holders as contractors, but have not been able strictly follow it which is practically difficult for small and mid-sized companies in the real estate / construction business.
