Dear CAClub mebers i have a small doubt, is required to deduct TDS On Electricity charges paid to APSPDCL, one of the CA objected for deduction of TDS on electricity charges during TAX Audit thus i raised the above query, please reply with supporting provisions to your answer if possible.

Hi,
As per my knowledge TDS is not deductible on electricity charges (power transmission) paid directly to government. In case, if you have rented a building & if you pay the amount to the building owner for electricity purpose then TDS to be deducted.
