Workshop on IFRS implementation

In line with the global trend, Government of India has taken decision to converge Indian corporate accounting with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) with effect from April 1, 2011. In the first phase of compliance all Nifty and BSE 30 companies and other companies having net worth of more than Rs.1000 crores need to comply with IFRS norms.  This requires these companies to have financial reporting framework that is truly global in nature which throws plethora of opportunities like improved inter-firm comparisons, access to global capital markets etc.  

However, dealing with operational aspects of the new reporting framework is a major challenge. Quick ramp up of skilled resources, creating awareness of what this transition means, knowledge of statutory and regulatory changes likely in the current scenario is need of the hour.

Objective:

The programme is intended to provide working knowledge on implentation of IFRS, migration to IFRS  reporting system. The program comrehensively covers all IFRS standards and provides thorough knowledge on areas like fair value accounting, impact on accounting policies, financial disclosures etc.

Mandatory transition to IFRS based accounting and reporting system will provide many opportunities to finance and other professionals who gain expertise in IFRS standards. The program can be attended by:

Programme dates and venue:

The program will commence on June 5, 2010 and conclude on June12, 2010. This is eight day programme (with classes on Saturday & Sunday). The programme starts at 9:30 AM and ends at 6:30 PM everyday. The venue of the programme will be at Institute of Public Enterprise, OU Campus, Hyderabad- 7. 

Certification of Participation:

On the conclusion of the programme participants receive a certificate of participation from IPE. The programme helps those interested participants to appear for online test and obtain "Diploma in IFRS" by ACCA- LONDON. The diploma is valid in more than 120 countries including India. Next online exam will be conducted in the month of December 2010 for which candidates can pay fee and register  online on or before October 15, 2010.Please refer to www.accaglobal.com for more details.

Programme fee:

The programme is non-residential. A fee of Rs.22,060/- (inclusive of service tax) is payable per participant which covers charges for faculty inputs, Tea/ Coffee and Lunch. 
Accommodation can be arranged, if informed in advance.

Payment of fee:

Participants can pay the fee in the  form of DD/cheque favoring " Vasista Foundation for Management Research". Payment can also made using online fund transfer facility.

Profile of the trainer:

Mr.Rammohan Bhave is internationally renowned IFRS faculty and implementation expert. Mr.Bhave is a fellow member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India(ICAI), Institute of cost and Works Accountants of India(ICWAI) and he is associate member of Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI). He holds Diploma in IFRS awarded by ACCA, London and ICAI, India. He holds post graduate degree in LLB and he is a Six Sigma- Green Belt Holder.

Mr.Bhave was active member in implementation of IFRS for steel companies  in Bulgaria, Bosnia, Serbia etc. He provides corporates training on IFRS and has taken up many implementation assignments  in India.

He has written various articles on IFRS and monthly column in ICWAI and CS monthly bulletins. He is a guest lecturer on IFRS at institutes like ICAI, ICWAI and MBA institutes like SIES, NMIMS. He has conducted a Webinar on "IFRS- Overview and Opportunities for Professionals" through more than 75  Reliance web world locations in more than 50 cities.
