Urgent articleship query

Form 108 should be submitted within 30 days of finishing articleship period. If by due date i.e. 20-Apr-11, excess leave is to be served, than Form 107 should be submitted.

In your friend's case, form 107 was not submitted. So now there are two options:

Option 1: Submit Form 108 alongwith a condonation letter for the delay and demand draft for late submission fine. Try to complete this before 180 days period i.e. by Sept end, or there will be rigorous other formalities to comply with.

Option 2: Submit Form 107 and 108 both.

To Undergo Exess Leave You should have been Submitted Form 107.Now I advise you to Submit Form 108 along with Condonation Later and Late Fee as applicable.But Form 108 should be without Excess Leave and show the reason like Medical leave

Show college timing 30 minutes beyond articleship timings in Form 103.

If timings clash, you will get a letter from the institute, giving an explanation for such clash. If your final exams have ended, and no more classes will take place than get a letter from the principal of the college, that your final exams have ended, and no more classes need to be attended. Otherwise, simply reply to institute's letter saying 40 hours per week criteria is satisfied because of overtime during audit. If college is nearby articleship office, than mention it too. Also, explain giving breakup of days and no. of hours per day, how you will satisfy 40 hours per week criteria. Read through articleship guide on ICAI's website, to know the rules. Perhaps 40 hours per week criteria might have diminished too.

All explanations should be preferably given in the letter head of the principal addressed to Deputy Secretary of ICAI in your region.

Following is my calculation of articles served and leaves taken.  Request you to guide me if I have any extension:

Period 2 April 2007 to 12 February 2010 (Small size firm)
Days served (A) = 1047 days
Leaves taken (B) = 260 days
Period on duty (A-B) = 787 days
Leave entitled = 787/6 = 131 days
Excess leave taken = 131-260 = 129 days

Period 15 February 2010 to 14 February 2011 (Industrial Training at a Big4)

Days served (A) = 365 days
Leaves taken (B) = 35 days
Period on duty (A-B) = 330 days
Leave entitled = 330/6 = 55 days
Excess leave taken = NIL

I being a 3 1/2 years article, my articles started from 2 April 2007 and were supposed to end on 1 October 2010 and allowed a leave of 184 days.  However, due to excess leave taken of 129 days at the small size firm, I served the Big4 for an additional of 136 days ie from 2 October 2010 to 14 February 2011 (some extra period served just to avoid extension due to rounding off of calculations)

But now I have received a letter from ICAI saying that I have an extension of 111 days.  However, according to the above calculation, I find some error in the calculation done by ICAI. 

Probably what ICAI has done is this: 

Leave taken at the small firm = 260 days 
Leave taken at the Big4 = 35 days 
Total leave taken = 295 days 
Leave allowed = 184 days 
Extension = 111 days

Request you to kindly check the calculations and guide.

can u tell me the format of condonation letter. its quite urgent & i haven't submitted my form 103 for last 1 month, but i don't know what to write in CONDONATION LETTER in respect of delay along with form 103.

sir plz reply ,i have join airticalship in direct entry scheme ,but dont get letter &idenity card ,what procedre i follow, i joined airticalship 28 aug 2012, is letter& idenity card requred for transfer, and to file up 109 form, and is 108 form requred for 2 monts traning,,plzzzzzzzzzzz reply me sir

I was not able to submit my Form 103 & other relevantArticleshipRegistration Form in prescribe time limit.

so, can i give a condonation letter on a  SIMPLE PAER(A4 SHEET). 

If not, LETTER HEAD is mandatory?
