As per ICAI's Rule an IPCC Student can take transfer in 1st year of articleship,So you can take transfer, your principal cannot stop you from doing that, You have to take signature of your Principal in Form 109.

Transfer is possible only by mutual consent during the first year of your articleship.

If your principal doesn't permit for the same, you really, can't do anything, but to stick to him throughout the period of articleship!

Its indigestible, as an article trainee, but its unfortunately true!!!

In the First Year there is no restriction for Transfer. (Even I have taken Transfer in my First Year of Articleship).

Form 120 is to state the reaons for termintaion of articleship. But in case of Transfer in 1st Year it is not required.

I agree that there are no restriction for taking transfer during the first year of the articleship. But if your principal refuses to sign, what can you do?

Rules made by the Institute are to be followed by both the articles & their Principals. if the rule says that a transfer is allowed for IPCC Students in thier first year of articleship than Principal has to allow such transfer. In the second year if there is any dispute it has to be solved mutually by both article & Principal (here he/she cannot take transfer).

Still if he does not allow transfer (In 1st Year) show him the Rules made by ICAI.
