Sanyam opt the one in which you have interest. How can anybody else suggest you which one to choose. This is your own decision. Choose the 1 in which you have inerest. Both have good options.

Mr Sanjay Gupta fully endorse Your views I myself find that in CA Club Forums Direct Tax Queries are answered immediately but when it comes to Indirect Taxes many Questions remains unanswered .The thing is clear we have very few experts here to answer .Madhukar N Hiregange is the one who often answers since being an expert
This is my opinion you may condradict it too

You will have to decide in which field you have more interest and then decide. Generally as mentioned by Sivaram there is more consultants on Direct Taxes side whereas there are less in Indirect Taxes side. So if you want to make ur carrer in Indirect Taxes then go for it.

Correct Sivram Ji...I dont have much expertise in Indirect Tax as mentioned in my expert profile. In replying query only book knowledge is not sufficient you also need some practical experience.

Generally as mentioned by Sivaram there is more consultants on Direct Taxes side whereas there are less in Indirect Taxes side. So if you want to make ur carrer in Indirect Taxes then go for it.. I have Mr. Bhupender Agarwal, who is working as a team leader in EY Hyderabad in Indirect Taxes & he personally feels that its good to be in that area.
Hi SANYAM ARORA
I think you should go for Indirect Tax bcoz our indian gov. earn 60% of total revenue from indirect tax. it is wast but much interesting. Currently many CA's are doing expertise in Direct Tax , it is not a new bcoz every one like DT. But in IDT u can get more scope to learn than DT. I m working with medium size firm. it's does't matter that where r u working. but the more important is that , what u learn from this.I m learn MVAT audit, tax audit, service tax audit, bank audit and must more which are help me to do my own practise in future. There is big shortage of good IDT expert in india.
You must do ur own analyses, that where r u interesting? what is ur future plan, whether u do job or start ur own practise?
Do the market study that where i get good opportunity after completion of articleship?
Best of luck & congrats for clearing 1st group.
