MVAT Schedule Rate on Domestic LPG Gas

The MVAT Rate of LPG Cylinders for Sale in Maharashtra upto 31/03/2006 was 12.50%. But from April 2007 the manufacturer i.e. HPCL, BPCL, IOCL has started collecting VAT @ 4% on this products. But I did not find any Entry in Schedule C for this product.

Can enbody help me in this respect. Because in VAT Audit Report we have to report the Schedule Entry Number of the product sold. The Company is not in position to clarify the matter.

After the amendmend in CST Act in 2006, LPG for domestic use has been included in the list of declared goos under section 14 of CST Act. Accordingly. state Govt can not levy VAT at a rate in excess of 4%.

there is nothing mentioned in the CST act -section 14 about LPG. plz check the link where i had checked the list. http://salestax.maharashtra.gov.in/ACTS/upload/00013-00086.htm so i m in a dilemma as i m not sure about what should i mention in the VAT report 704 regarding the LPG schedule entry. please help me for this. thanks in advance. my email address is tejashrirote @ gmail.com
