Incom tax return - resetting login id

So far, my Income Tax retruns are being filed by an agent on my behalf who visits our office and collects details for filing Income Tax returns for a fee. The agent uses his Login ID for this purpose. Now I would like to file these returns on my own. what is the procedure for resetting the Login ID and Password.

USER ID for filling IT returns will always be your PAN.

To reset the password, you can mail to validate @ incometaxindia.gov.in with the following information:

1) PAN

2) Name

3) Date of Birth/Date of Incorporation

4) Father’s Name

5) Address (As per PAN registration)

You will get the password within 48 hrs to your mail id.

After receiving so., you can log in & change the password, update secret question & answer as well as update the email id.

1. Your User ID is always your PAN no.

2. To change password, taky your previous year's ITR V & bank account no provided by you. Go to forgot password link on home page below login & register. Provide your efiling acknoledgement no for the previuous AY & last 6 digits of your bank acct. You will be able to change password instantly.

After login, first change your email ID than only file return.
