I am going to register for ICAI Campus Placements, how can I get to know the Companies participating in the Campus and their centres so that I can select my centre accordingly. Is there any way in which I can find it ?

The list is being updated on a daily basis.
Keep checking it. However, I don't understand why the students are required to get themselves registered first and opt for centres without knowing which companies are going to show up at which centre.
It's not really transparent.

I second that. This is utterly non-professional behavior by the so called "most professional" body of India. When I registered there were no companies in Pune and , so I didn't opt for that center and now you look there is Accenture, ITC, TCS, Credit Suisse, Bosch there. Even look at Ahemdabad, so many Companies have registered. And as per the rules now we cannot even alter our centers. Truly disappointing. |
Pucca,
Well. Since we're all already aware of such a misfeasance on the part of ICAI, I can only suggest that the students registering for the ICAI Campus Placement should base their choices on the past trends. My understanding, as far as I've examined the trends, is that there are a lot of recurring Companies visiting the ICAI Campus Placement from the same locations. So, the only way a student can make an educated decision would be by analyzing the past trends based on the information released by ICAI on it's Campus Placement website. For instance, while there hasn't been much activity on the international-placement front, I've seen that Companies generally trend to recruit students form the New Delhi centre for International Postings.
Either way, this can only enable a student to make a much more "informed-guess". I still think the ICAI should be transparent in this process.
Anyways. Which centre did you opt for? Have you been shortlisted already? It'd be great if you could copy-paste the "summarized version(you know, when the Companies mention the role they are offering, the place of posting, the minimum package including perks they're going to be paying)" of the offerings made to you by the Companies in which you have been shortlisted.
Thank you for the input.
Cheers,
Sam

To an extent I agree with you Sam but if you see that last year the entire list of participating companies was out well before the last date of registration. This year the list as on last date of registration contained only handful companies and there was no reason for us to opt for the smaller center where the number of companies eventually grew manifolds. Once we register for campus according we register for GMCS and it becomes impossible for us to later ammend the choice of centre. SO this where the difficulty lies.
For your second part the shortlists are not yet out. We are having orientation tomorrow (Mumbai), I will inform you if there is anything valuable regrarding all this. The presentations and PPT are somewhere in 1st week of March and so are the written tests.
