Mr x inherited property from his father, which was inherited by his grand father. Purchase value & year of purchase is not known. In the current AY Mr X sold the property.
In this case to calculate capital gain, how indexed cost of acquisition is to be calculated?

Based on the valuation of the property as on 01.04.1981, obtained from government approved valuer........
take cii year of 1981 and find out cost of acquisition by its formula
