Error in e-filing of ITR-2 for A.Y.2009-10

I need to file the ITR-2 of a certain client for the A.Y.2009-10.The xml file that is required to be uploaded is devoid of any errors and is created successfully. Still, hwne I upload the file, error is shown as follows:
"Error in Upload of ITR 2 
null 
Error parsing the IT Return XML.Please upload a proper xml file"
I've tried the earlier suggestions on this topic and none of them seems to work for me.
Please help.
