Duty liability and excise valuation query

Company XYZ buys machinery in parts and sells the same to customer in parts as and when it is received. Company XYZ assembles and install the machinery at the location of the customer. Will it amount to manufacture and if yes, how will be the valuation of excise and when will duty be levied in case of Company XYZ?
