Hi,
I am staying as a paying guest. I need to make an agreement with the owner to get the income tax benefit of the rent amount that I am paying to him. I saw draft for leave and license agreement but as per my landlord that can not be used for paying guest accomodation. We have any such format.
if any one can help me by providing any draft or provide some more information about this, would be very helpful.

Hi Rachit,
Thanks for the reply. I checked the same. It is draft document for leave and license agreement where owner gives the complete propety to the tenant. In my case it is P.G. accomodation case where My owner is staying with me, we are sharing a flat. I am a paying guest to him.

For claiming Exemption of HRA, Rent agreement is not necessary, what is required is rent receipts...
EVEN FOR RENT RECEIPTS NO FORMAT IS PRESCRIBED,
"Received with thanks from Mr. XYZ, a cheque. of Rs. 10,000/- dated 02.02.2010 drawn on ABC Bank, as a rent for letting out of the property situated at ....................for the period of Feburary 2010.
