i have ms office 2007 , service pack 3 , xp professional. have also tried solution given by ganesh babu but still the error is generating while opening any ITR for AY 2013-14 . at the same time on test basis i had generated XML for last AY 2012-13 file it is getting generated sucessfully but noy AY 2013-14 ... pls help ...

was this issue of "compile error in module 3" got solved as I am also running through the same problme since last one month and have not been able to solve neither my engineers.  they say it is related with the itr forms.  please help.  if solved please help me with the solution.

Yes, Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2007 or 10 is the solution.

I was also facing this problem, when I try with my laptop with windows7 & office 7 & 10, all the itr works properly, no error message was displayed.

Thanks,  In that case I have have to remove windows XP from the computer, install windows 7and with that ms office 7.  Long process ahhh.  No other way it can be solve?  With me other issue is if I install window 7 than couple of my other software may not work.

Any way thanks a Ton for the suggestion since I dont have option I will have to remove windows XP and install window 7.

I think the utility uploaded by TRACES is having some problem with macros or VB module

Use Windows 7 and Microsoft Office 2003 / 2007 together to open ITR file.

It is not practical for all to format their running windows XP (OS).

Note: For installing windows 7 it is not necessary to format your PC you may install it without formating your Windows XP (OS) in this case a selection key displayed at startup to choose your Operating System i.e to start Windows 7 or Earlier Version of windows i.e. XP.
 

ITR Software provided by Income Tax department is compiled in latest version of programmes (i.e. new features of Macros and Visual Basics), so instead of waiting for new release you may try the above tested solution.

Hi all

In old system this compiling error in module 3 or 1 or sheet 1 is coming but when I tried with a new system it has accepted.  Even our computer service provider is also not able to solve the error problem.  We are trying to download service pack 3 and if we are successful we will inform everybody.

msxml 6.0 service pack1 " 

for all type of compile errors In ITR excel
