Many aspiring students are applying for US visa to study abroad. US embassy demands financial statements. Practicing Chartered accountants after verifying the papers presented to them by the applicant’s issues a certified financial statement true to their best of knowledge.

Unfortunately the embassy rejects outright these statements calling them as fraud or fabricated. Protest has been made to the scared Central Government with no result.

Thro this forum I am calling upon to all the chartered accountants and their associations to protest this behavior of the foreign embassy as it reflects the attitude of American Government toward professional Chartered accounts of India.

US embassy is taking right step. CAs are not authorised to given such statement. such statement should be issued by CFA or ICWA. we are congratulating from CFA or ICWA community for correct treatment to ca.

I believe, this platform is for constructive interaction among professionals.When there is a concern to a particular fraternity, others need to rise and support them rather than making rival statements!

Will madam Sonia explain clearly what you want to tell.American government disregards you chartered accountants abuses your report as fraud and still you want to keep quiet.Is it not an important point to be discussed when there is ongoing discussion going on with your american counter part.It is a tragedy thet in your home country some foreigner is abusing you and you take it as right work. What a tragedy. Additciton to whites!!!! Poor India.

May Mr. Punjabi explain Cost Accounttant capabilities to prepare income tax returns and income statements and relevant financial documents. Like wise are CFA,s equipped to prepare such fianacial documents? Please be practical.

Cost Accountants in practice from Pune are issuing such statement in favour of students. American embassy is accepting this documents. as there is no prescibed qualification by US embassy. may be such CAs are issuing bogus statement.

The point is that ca's are criticised for their superiority over all other so called "finance professionals"...well braggin about one's credentials is not my job particularly....however aftr readin the remarks made by one of the patrons....i pity them for coming up with such undermining statements...DUDE try to be a CA .....and avoid being a looser in life.....

May be my opinion was viewed from a different angle!... i was talking to my dear friend Mr.Punjabi that, when any among us professionals are in trouble, others need to support them.Meaning that all need to support CAs for getting their rights established against the american autocratic attitude!...After all we are PROUD INDIANS.... im i clear myself now?

We should have a consensus on this. The point is whether the Americans have disregard for a professional qualification such as CA or not. If today a Certificate of a CA is termed as Bogus, tomorrow a Certificate from a Cost Accountant or CFA could be termed as a Fraud. Let us come together to resolve this.

My dear friends, I am Chartered Accountant but I would say that we should not straight away criticize American embassy with out knowing full facts.On what grounds they have rejected the financial statements , I think none of us know. It's not the matter of particular profession , it relates to all of us Indians and must be countered in that fashion but only after knowing truth.
