This query is : Resolved

02 January 2018 What is the difference between zero rated sales and exempted sales

02 January 2018 All exports as well as supplies to SEZs are categorised as Zero Rates Supplies.
On the other hand, Exempted supply includes supply of goods or services which attracts Nil rate of tax or which may be fully exempt from tax under Section 11 or u/s 6 of the Act, and includes non taxable supply.
Non taxable supply are supplies which are niether considered as supply of goods nor supply of services.
NIL rated means taxable but at Nil Rate of tax.
Section 11 of GST Act gives power to govt to specify by notification, products which are exempt either absolutely or subject to conditions the goods or services from the whole or part of tax leviable thereon.

02 January 2018 for example Liquor is outside from the scope of GST. so it is Exempted from GST
and in other hand Some Goods having Taxed @ 0% Under GSt
