In your situation where you were appointed for a temporary (contractual) job in a Government Hospital during the Covid-19 epidemic and appointed by the Chief Medical and Health Officer (CMHO) office, the correct option for the type of deductor would typically be "Central/State Government/Local Authority." Here’s why:
### Understanding the Options:
1. **Central/State Government/Local Authority**: This option applies when the deductor is a government entity (such as the CMHO office in your case) or a local authority.
2. **Others**: This option is generally used for non-government entities like private companies, firms, individuals, etc.
### Application to Your Situation:
- **Deductor**: The CMHO office is a government authority responsible for your appointment. - **Responsible Person**: The CMHO officer, who oversees the operations and decisions related to your employment.
Since your contract job was in a Government Hospital appointed by a government authority (CMHO office), you should select the option "Central/State Government/Local Authority" as the type of deductor in Form 16. This accurately reflects the nature of the deductor, which is a government entity.
### Importance of Correct Selection:
- Choosing the correct type of deductor ensures accurate reporting and compliance with tax regulations. - It also helps in reconciling information with the tax department and avoids discrepancies during income tax assessment.
### Conclusion:
Given that your temporary job was under the auspices of a government office (CMHO), you should select "Central/State Government/Local Authority" as the type of deductor in Form 16. This aligns with the nature of your employment and the entity responsible for deducting taxes. Always ensure to review your Form 16 for accuracy before filing your income tax return to avoid any issues with tax authorities.
