13 August 2009 what is the difference between securities and shares/debentures?

13 August 2009 securities is a broad term which inludes all type of instument e.g. share(equity/ preference), debenture, T- bill, bonds, commericial Bill (Bill of exchange), Mutual funds, warrents, government securities, NSC etc, However share means equity ans preference share(in india)and dennture including deneture stock represents claim on nonet lend to a preson whether secured or unsecured.
