The stamp paper may have no expiry but any document to be executed on a stamp paper has to be executed before or on the date or within 3/6 months of the date of the stamp paper depending on the state and kind of document. So legally there may be very little use of the stamp paper with an earlier date unless one wants to do something else. Having an earlier dated stamp paper is not a crime and you keep it with you but cannot use it for legal documentation.

It is clear from the provision of The Indian Stamp Act as well as respective state stamp acts and the above stated judgment that the condition of validity period of six months (one year in case of Karnataka) is applicable only in cases of seeking refund of amounts/allowance paid for unused stamp papers. However, no time limit is applicable or has been prescribed for use / validity of the stamp papers.
