Hi someone please help! My husband has been sick since the month of December and has been unable to submit proof of investments and proof of educational loan taken as well as the medical reimbursements that he can claim.
I have no clue as to how the system works and now the company has been deducting a lot for the month of february and march.
Is there any way that we can claim this amount as it would be a great help to us in this time of need.
Kindly explain the procedure as to how it should be done. Would be very grateful if the details can be clear for the layman. As I know nothing about income tax.

Hello... there is no way to get refund. Except today ask him/ or you can submit all the investment proof and medical reimbursement details to the company and so the company wont deduct TDS for the month of march...Go and meet Hr personally do tht they can help you. and when you will get TDS certificate, you cna claim refund of the excess paid in earlier months from the Income tax Deptt.

There's no way I can submit the proofs as of now. I was never aware of the process.
Is there a possibility that I can submit the proof of investment and the medical reimbursements and claim for the refund while filing for returns?

Well, in case you cant submit proofs to the employer, then Tax will be deducted by employer.
But at the time of filing of return, you can claim the deduction for investment made during the year and adjust TDS deducted and can claim the refund at that time.
Also is there any exemption for medical expenses made.
I am aware of the exemption on educational loan, but how do i proceed.
Guptaji and Sahuji kindly advise as to what documents and forms should i have in place in order to file returns. And can i do it on my husband's behalf or his signatures are necessary?
