03 October 2012 Suppose I provide service to my customer then within how many days am I supposed to raise the invoice.

03 October 2012 14 days from the date of service as per old provisions.
Now it is 30 days

04 October 2012 Prior to amendment the limit was 14 days , but now it has been increased to 30 days.
raise the invoice within 30 days of completion of service or receipt of payment, whichever earlier.

04 October 2012 There is one more problem.
At times on the services which we provide .we don't receive the amount and then it is treated as bad debts, even tough we have not received the amount we have to pay Service tax and the customer to whom we have provided service can claim for input without clearing our bills.

04 October 2012 Any person can book the credit of service tax as soon as he receives the invoice. But if he dont pays the creditor within 3 months then he will have to reverse such credit availed. So your customer will have to reverse the credit if he dont pays you within 3 months.( this procedure is applicable in case of normal charge only and not in case of reverse charge)

05 October 2012 If the customer doesn't pay me for my services, then what happens to the Service Tax amount which I have paid.
