Tracing the InomeTax challan

29 May 2010 Hi,

I have paid Income tax of Rs 15000 in SBI bank in the mnonth of Feb. I have received a receipt from the bank with their BDR code. challan number etc.,I have lost the receipt and could not trace it. Is their any way to trace the payment details online.

After entering all the details in this site it says "The Session is Expired."

Please help in the matter

29 May 2010 IF IT WAS ONLINE PAYMENT YOU CAN GET DUPLICATE COPY FROM BANK SITE. IF MANUAL THEN YOU CAN TRACE IT ONLY AFTER REGISTRATION FOR 26AS AT NSDL SITE.
OR BETTER FILL UP THE CHALLAN AGAIN WITH SAME INFO AND VISIT THE BANK THEY WILL PROVIDE YOU THE COUNTERFOIL OR A CYBER RECEIPT ON PAYMENT OF NOMINAL FEES.

29 May 2010 BUT NAIK JI FOR THAT YOU NEED TO HAVE BSR CODE, CIN NO, DATE OF DEPOSIT. BUT THE PERSON HAS LOST THE CHALLAN COUNTERFOIL SO HE WONT BE ABLE TO CHECK FROM ABOVE LINK.

From the TAN based view, he can have a list of all the challans, say during the month of Feb'09. By puting the amount of Rs. 15,000/-, the challan can be traced.

So far BSR code is concerned, it's not an issue at all.

29 May 2010 BUT SIR TAN BASED VIEW IS FOR TDS CHALLANS, AND NOT FOR INCOME TAX. IF I AM NOT WRONG.
