TDS Receivable

This query is : Resolved

20 August 2010 Dear Experts,
Pls advice on :
Which amount can be claimed as TDS receivable-Amount as per
1)TDS certificate received or
2)Tds recevable as per books of accounts or
3)Form 26AS

20 August 2010 TDS claim is received as per 26AS.

20 August 2010 all TDS for which income is accounted for in books of account or return of income. If TDS certificates not recd. for some of them try to get the same from deductors of TDS. if some of transactions are not there in 26AS, see the reason and get the same corrected. but all TDS for which income is accounted for or offered for taxation may be claimed. it may also happen that TDS is deducted in preceeding year and due to difference in basis of accounting between deductor and deductee, income is shown in previous year, TDS can be claimed however, the same is included in 26AS related to the previous preceeding year.
