Tds on dth services taken by company

This query is : Resolved

26 November 2012 If company takes DTH service from DTH Service provider like DISH TV, Airtel etc. Such DTH service used by company in its colony for employees.

Is company liable to deduct TDS? If yes, at what rate? Under which section such TDS required to be deducted?

26 November 2012 We do not need to deduct the TDS.

26 November 2012 I beg to differ. The company is liable to deduct TDS u/s 194C, subject to however the thresh hold limits as prescribed under that section. Typically it is a CONTRACT

26 November 2012 Kind Attn Mr. Prashant

On what basis or logic there is no liab to deduct TDS. I mean to say it is specifically exempted?

It is for monthly subscription charges payable to DTH Service provider.
