TDS deducted on FD, without informing me

15 May 2010 Hello,

I had an FD of Rs. 1 being expired and then automatically been renewed by my bank that icici bank, last year at the time of creating the fd the bank executive told to fill some 14G or something like that form to avoid TDS tax, now this year as the FD got renewed automatically as it was 360 FD, I was not aware or filling the tax exemption form, and Rs.1000 has been deducted as TDS, I did file IT return filed last year of 1.99 lakh to show that for getting a loan, have not filed IT return this year, please tell me what should I do get the TDS refunded

15 May 2010 Dear Mukesh.
As far as i got from your query, the bank has deducted the TDS, deposited it and issued the certificate for TDS deduction. So in this case, just file your return and claim the refund in the return.

15 May 2010 agreed with Mr. Rahul. Please file your return & claim refund.By this way, you can continue your return also.


15 May 2010 thank you experts for taking time and reply, however note that I have just finished MBA I do not have a good income that falls in taxable income, I do not want to file return then how do I get refund? please suggest, also you can reply directly to me directly at mukesh1985@hotmail.com

15 May 2010 there is no way to claim refund of tds without filing of income tax return.
