whether TDS under 194 C is applicable to folowing payments? 1. Sponsorship paid to a club towards sponsorship of annual inter club snooker championship. 2.Sponsorship of Ranaji cricket match between 2 states
what are the transactions which are subject to TDS u/ 194C for sponsorship?what are the provisions?

In a publication of the Kolkata Income tax Department, it has been stated that sponsorship is nothing but advertisement by display of marchandise etc. Hence, Section 194C is applicable.
