26 February 2013 can an individual lawyer claim following tax deduction 1) salary given to junior lawyer.
2) salary given to driver
3) salary given to helper office boy

also driver and office boy salary is given in cash as they don't have account and they prefer to get cash
in such cases what proof need to be submitted ?

also printing and stationary cost can that be claimed

26 February 2013 If individual Lawyer is in Practice then he can claim such expenses.

So far as it is concerned about proof you should maintain Attendance Register & Salary Register and get it signed by employees whenever payment is made.

01 March 2013 Obviously yes...if the threshold limit exceeds...u r liable to deduct tax...be it cash or through bank...!

Printing & stationary cost can be claimed as expense.
