09 January 2016 My family consisted of:
My Father, Mother, my 2 elder sisters (both married - in 1975 & 1979), myself (the only son - married in 1988; have 2 children - 1 daughter & 1 son - both unmarried).
We had 2 HUFs - one in the name of my father, of which my father was the karta and the other in my name, of which I was the karta.
After the death of my father in 2008, I became karta of HUF of my father. Since 2008, I am karta of both the HUFs and I have been filing the ITRs regularly for both the HUFs.
In 2015, my mother also expired. Now, after the death of my mother, please guide me on the following:
1. Can I continue the HUF of my father as karta?
2. Will my 2 elder sisters (both married) be considered as members of HUF of my father, of which I am the karta?

09 January 2016 The repy to both the query is in -Yes.
.
After 09-09-2015, passing of the new Hindu Succession (Amendment) Act 2005, daughters have also got the same status as of a son.
.

01 February 2016 You can continue as kharta.
