Is it mandatory to quote PAN if Rent paid exceeds Rs 1 lac.
Or a Declaration given by the owner of house stating that they do not have PAN and their income does not exceed the limit prescribed under IT is enough.

If annual rent paid by the employee exceeds Rs 1,00,000 per annum, it is mandatory for the employee to report PAN of the landlord to the employer. In case the landlord does not have a PAN, a declaration to this effect from the landlord along with the name and address of the landlord should be filed by the employee.

But in Form 24Q, Annexure II, a new column has been inserted where we have to mention PAN of landlord.
When a declaration is given for non availability of PAN, can we leave that newly inserted column BLANK while filing 4th quarter 24Q. Is that acceptable.
